About this property
“We have lived in Charlton for the last 10 years and love the local area. It is only 15 minutes from Central London but has a village feel to it.
There are numerous local parks, green spaces, shops and pubs within walking distance and the community is great; there is even a Canberra Road WhatsApp group!
The house is slightly larger than others in the area, the hallways and rooms feel light and airy and give you that little bit of extra space. In the summer the house is cool and the garden is large enough to have both sunny and shady patches throughout the day. In the winter the log burner keeps the house warm and cosy thanks to the open plan downstairs.
We have found the annex to be a very useful additional space. We rented it out on Airbnb for a year, had an extra spare ensuite room for friends and relatives and more recently it has been used as a home gym and home office."
As the sellers say, this is a larger sized 1930's semi-detached family house in one of the area's most favoured roads and within the Charlton Village conservation area.
The house has off street parking, an unusually wide hallway with downstairs cloakroom and storage, a double reception room, and a fitted kitchen-diner.
Upstairs are four well-proportioned bedrooms, a large family bathroom, and a fully boarded-over loft with excellent potential for conversion. The owners have undertaken a number of improvements including a new roof, log burner and A-rated Worcester Bosch boiler.
The secluded rear garden backs towards the beautiful stables of Charlton House, and has trees, shrubs lawn and patio. It houses a fantastic annex that is ideal for guest accommodation or home working.
