“We have lived here for just over 13 years. Charlton Lane sits in an area with a real community feel and we are part of a local WhatsApp community Hub where people look out for each other, share local news and events, and offer to lend you that ladder you sometimes need.

Being in southeast London doesn’t automatically conjure up images of greenery but we are right in the middle of 3 wonderful parks – Maryon, Maryon Wilson (‘animal park’), and Charlton Park. We enjoy walking our dog at all 3 which has been invaluable during lockdown to have such great local green space. We are a few doors up from the Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ Pound Park Nursery and our son goes to Windrush Primary School, a short walk away, which is also rated outstanding by Ofsted (despite not appearing on the school checker on Rightmove). He has been very happy there, with the standard of teaching and cares very high.
We were originally attracted to the house for its typical Victorian layout, tall ceilings, original cornicing, and the good-sized garden. We have over time made many improvements to the property including a new kitchen, bathroom, garden redesign with sociable patio area, and have redecorated throughout, whilst keeping all the original details. We also have a long, thin cellar which is great for household and wine storage. We also benefit from being semi-detached allowing unsightly wheelie bins to be stored away at the side of the house and access through to the back garden after muddy bike rides."
